Heat exchangers · cleaning in place

Restore heat transfer without opening the plate pack

One mobile unit cleans both the seawater and freshwater sides — plate-and-frame, shell-and-tube or boiler, in situ.

Not days

01Point 01

No disassembly

The plate pack stays compressed and the tube bundle stays in place. No transport, no workshop time, no reassembly leaks.

02Point 02

Less downtime

Hours instead of days. Fewer man-hours, fewer parts handled, and less risk of damage on board.

03Point 03

Capacity restored

Heat transfer back to spec, energy and operating costs down. Ideal as preventive maintenance.

Heat exchanger installed in an engine room
Cleaning happens where the equipment already is — no dismantling, no trip to the workshop.

Why not dismantle?

Most cleaning methods start by taking the exchanger apart

Plate heat exchangers, shell-and-tube designs and boilers alike. That means lifting gear, transport, workshop time and a reassembly that has to be perfect. Get it wrong and you have a leak instead of a clean cooler.

Cleaning in place removes the whole step. The system stays where it is, the plate pack stays compressed, and the chemistry does the work. Deposits are dissolved through a chemical reaction rather than high pressure or flow velocity — so no high-capacity pump is required either.

The system

One machine. Two circuits. The right chemistry.

Safe chemicals circulate in a closed loop through the exchanger. Limescale, barnacles and grease are chemically loosened and flushed out — no heating, no high pressure, no opening the plate pack.

Procedure

Five clear steps

A full cycle fits inside a single shift.

  1. 1

    Connect

Hoses on, the unit sits beside the exchanger. The system stays in place.

  2. 2

    Fill

Charge the 70 L reservoir with the chemistry matched to the circuit.

  3. 3

    Circulate

Closed-loop circulation at low pressure, no heating required.

  4. 4

    Monitor

Deposits dissolve down to the original surface within hours.

  5. 5

    Rinse

Neutralise, flush and return to service the same shift.

Result

Down to the original surface

Scale, marine growth and corrosion residue restrict flow and cut heat transfer — particularly in systems using seawater for cooling or firefighting. Removing them restores both.
