The Problem

It just takes time until calcium scale starts building up inside the pipe work of a vacuum toilet system. The flow reduces and eventually the system is blocked. It is not always easy to locate, let alone solve these blockages. Getting access to the pipes often takes demolishing elements of the vessel’s interior and always means downtime in the toilet system and all the additional inconvenience that results from it.

The most common solution is to avoid blockage by the periodic cleaning of the system. As this involves taking out of operation lines of toilets, it is obvious that the cure is often worse than the problem. The disconnected line may be saturated in diluted acid (which does not only disrupt the services on board, but may also cause damage by leakage) or recirculated in a closed loop, which is more effective, but may have the same negative effects.

INGENIOUS FORMULATION AND UNIQUE DOUBLE ACTION

The mild acid in GBC Barnacle Remover dissolves scaling relatively slow (but still amazingly fast) and in layers, thus preventing larger chunks of material from breaking off and clogging up inside pipes.

In those cases where barnacles or any calcareous deposits may be embedded in or covered by organic material, GBC Barnacle Remover will first dissolve this organic peel – or as much of it as necessary to let enough of the acid though – to reach the hard material and completely dissolve it.

Additional smart inhibitors make GBC Barnacle Remover safe for all materials, chemically nor mechanically affecting their inner molecular structures nor allowing particles to come off and leave a fouling footprint in the aquatic environment.

Handling barnacle build-up with GBC Barnacle remover includes removing the attachment locations referred to as ‘barnacle footprints’, leaving an exceptionally surface.

SAFE AND COST-EFFECTIVE PROCEDURES

GCB Barnacle remover liquid can be simply circulated thorough any piping system with no high pressure, chemically working its way through clogging, and removing scale build-up.

Descaling large surfaces is a matter of spraying, maintaining a foaming surface by gentle brushing, repeating and rinsing.

After rinsing the system or surface with water and collecting the rinsing water together with the GBC Barnacle Remover liquid containing scale residues, the mixture’s pH value is high enough to discharge it safely in accordance with applicable regulations.

Storage Conditions:
